As a mother of a child with autism, I have found these websites to be particularly helpful...
Wonderful and compassionate advice for parents, podcasts, and videos from music therapist Cathy Knoll. Content related to all challenges and aspects of living with autism. All ages.
Terrific educational resource, including free picture cards and instructions on how to use visual helpers, plus social skills and more. All ages.
Fun educational resource, including great printable actitvities, calendars, choice boards, recipes, and picture-songs. My son loved these! I especially like the holiday-related items. Age level: preschool through elementary school.
Online catalog and paper catalog of special needs items, including many sensory play toys and tools. I have sometimes used the information in the catalog to create my own versions or buy second-hand when the items were too expensive for me to afford. For example, I made my own Lycra swing, and a ball pool with an inflatable kiddie pool. Lots of good ideas here.
Great catalogue of special needs toys and tools, particularly related to speech development and oral motor skills. Their delivery is free and the products are top quality. Also there are lots of helpful articles about autism on their website.
Living well with autism -- that is the mission of this online resource.
Emphasis is on free or inexpensive strategies parents and caregivers can do themselves.
